These past several days were spent over at Saul’s house in Rancho. We had so much fun going to Chick-Fil-A (twice!), Ikea (twice as well!), Ontario Mills (also twice…), and attending the Clippers playoff game. Our Clippers lost, but it’s okay! We still have Game 7! Aside from that, we spent lots of time relaxing, working out, playing and listening to music, shopping and organizing Saul’s bedroom. Best deal I got this weekend? Definitely a J. Crew crossbody bag (pictured above) for 50% off its original price!
Mother’s Day is tomorrow. Unfortunately, my mother won’t be home from her world travels in time to celebrate. What are y’all doing for yo mommas?!

“I said anything I wanted because I don’t believe in children, I don’t believe in childhood. I don’t believe that there’s a demarcation. ‘Oh you mustn’t tell them that. You mustn’t tell them that.’ You tell them anything you want. Just tell them if it’s true. If it’s true you tell them.”
- Maurice Sendak
Thank you, Maurice Sendak, for creating worlds that remained an enormous part of my childhood and helped shape my little imagination.
You guys, I couldn’t wait more than a week to get my next tattoo… So here it is: a baby pudu, the smallest deer on earth. This was done by Gabe at Empire Tattoo in Upland, California. I am obsessed with this animal and ever since expressing my fixation on this particular creature, Saul’s nickname for me has been BB Pudu.
I think this may be my favorite tattoo thus far.
The day has come! Today, my friends, is Star Wars Day. This means I will be celebrating this wonderful tale of a galaxy far, far away by eating sandwiches cut with my TIE-fighter and Millennium Falcon sandwich cutters, wearing my Empire Strikes Back t-shirt, snuggling in my Clone Wars fleece blanket, all whilst watching my favorite films of all time! Maybe even take a jab at that puzzle set I’ve had sitting around unsolved for ages…
Whether you are a jedi knight or have joined the dark side, I hope you all have a wonderful day and May the 4th be with you!
These landscape paintings are done by Cuban artist, Tomás Sánchez.
It all looks so beautiful and serene, I just want to transport myself into his work.
Saul and I spent this past weekend in the Westside, which is not a part of town that either of us frequent very often at all. So, it was a nice and refreshing change of scenery for us!
Our first destination was The Getty Center, which is one of my favorite museums to visit in Los Angeles. The views are fantastic and the art is always enjoyable. Saul and I both wish we could have spent more time here, so we may be returning very soon. Perhaps pack a picnic lunch to bring next time! I particularly enjoyed the “In Focus: Los Angeles, 1945-1980” photo exhibition.
Next, we headed over to Westwood for lunch, where I experienced two firsts: Five Guys and Diddy Riese. Five Guys was yummy, but I don’t understand why everyone keeps comparing it to In-N-Out. Though both burgers, they really aren’t comparable. The cajun fries were not bad, but could be better. Diddy Riese was a nice little treat, though, for us, it didn’t quite live up to its hype. But that doesn’t mean we won’t return when given the chance!
After lunch, we headed over to Hotel Angeleno to check in. I received a decent package deal for the night + $40 hotel credit and two tickets for the rides at the Santa Monica pier. We relaxed for several hours, then headed over to the pier and promenade for some nighttime fun. Rode a few rides, ate a little snack and window shopped before returning back to the hotel and eating in with some room service.
Today, we were woken up bright and early with breakfast in bed. The majority of our day was spent with Saul’s co-workers at the Celebrate Israel festival in Rancho Park to promote Capsule. I took some photos for them and poor Saul began to feel ill and dehydrated, so we had to leave the festival early. The two of us rested for a few hours, then grabbed dinner in Century City before heading back to the good ol’ San Gabriel Valley.
I absolutely loved this weekend and hope yours was just as enjoyable!
Xoxo.
I just got my second tattoo done today by “Slack” over at Shogun Tattoo in Pasadena.
The boa constrictor digesting an elephant is a drawing found in The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. My absolute favorite children’s book.
As a little girl, Nancy Drew was my ultimate idol. So many of those yellow-spined books filled my bookshelf and I would sit for hours, on the edge of my seat, tearing through each story. Bringing out my inner detective to solve every single mystery alongside Nancy and the rest of the gang. She was so intelligent, brave and adventurous. Not to mention, that girl had style!
Here are some Nancy Drew related photos that I came across on the web. If you were as big of a Nancy Drew fan as I am, these will certainly tickle your nostalgic senses.

Saul and I went out for dinner tonight at our favorite Thai spot, Daisy Mint.
This place has the cutest decor and a lovely outdoor patio, which we try to be seated at as often as we can. We ordered Thai tea, crab wontons and the Pad See Ew, which of course, is a classic and never disappoints. I made a mental note to take photos of the food when it came, but that whole idea completely went out the window as soon as it arrived. I just wanted to stuff all of the deliciousness into my mouth, pronto!
Started off my day with a nice, healthy strawberry banana smoothie.
No sugar added! Though, if you must, I do recommend using honey as a sweetener. ;)
Xoxo.

Had a lovely weekend, but the weather here in Southern California has been so damn bipolar. Blazing hot one day and rainy the next?
Let’s bring that nice Spring weather back!
I hope your week is getting off to a good start.
Xo.
Started off my day with a wake and bake and some vinyls. Went for an afternoon run, then was off to smoke some more and eat at The Boiling Crab. Had shrimp, crab, corn on the cob and of course, cajun fries. If things could go my way, I would eat there practically every day! Got a java chip mocha from The Honey Badger Cafe afterwards as a little dessert. Next stop was Amoeba’s, where we spent at least two hours looking through CDs and vinyls and found some good deals. Following that, we headed for The Grove and killed time at the Barnes and Noble while waiting for our movie time to come closer. Found some books to add to my reading list and came across the “Teen Paranormal Romance” section, as well as some poorly written erotica. The movie we ended up watching was The Cabin in the Woods, which was so gory and hilarious. This genre of film is definitely one of my all-time favorites. I’m certain I would be willing to watch this movie again sometime real soon.
Today was such an awesome day, and now I’m at home, chillin’ in my High Logic tank and ready to knock out. I hope anyone else that may have taken part in celebrating 4/20 also had a fun and safe weed-filled day!
Just snagged a ticket for Outside Lands!
Not sure what my plan is yet. I have several options, but if people or scenarios fall through, I may be trekking solo!
If you are attending, please let me know so that we can meet up. :)
Due to recent circumstances, I have moved back in with my mum and pops, and I really like it! I’ve been living on my own for the past two years, and though living independently has its perks, so does living back at home. :)
I wanted to clean out and re-decorate my room so that it accomodates who I am today, and not 12-year-old me. I got a record player, recovered my vinyls and hung up this Ganesha tapestry, which I am completely in love with. Replaced the curtains on my closet, cleaned out a bunch of childhood junk and unpacked some of the things from my apartment.
Also hoping that I can get a standing desk worked in somewhere here. I spend a lot of time sitting at my desk and it drives me nuts that I can’t stand and move around while I work. Though I still do want to keep my regular desk around. Hm… I guess I’ll see what I can do!
But for the time being, I looove my bedroom!
It is now the perfect place for me to escape and find solitude.
Spent a chill night at Hovanes’ house with a bunch of people, beer, hookah, bud and The Human Centipede 2.
Planning to purchase an Outland Lands ticket on Thursday and tickets for Sigur Ros at The Hollywood Forever on Friday. Time to save up!
In the meantime, I am going to knock the eff out. Good night!
